This photo was taken shortly after the Michigan Theater opened its doors in 1928.

MT TRIVIA:

⚒️ Designed by Detroit architect Maurice Finkel, it originally was created to serve the community as a silent theater.

📽️ The first silent film ever to be shown was A HERO FOR THE NIGHT during the theater's grand opening on January 5, 1928.

🎞️ By the very next year, the theater was showing talkies!
