President Liz Shuler will share new AFL-CIO polling data on how workers are feeling about their lives, their jobs and their families. She’ll also explain how union members are putting it all on the line to elect pro-worker candidates who will actually stand up for working people, and stand up to the billionaires and CEOs trying to control our lives.

So who made this happen?

For seven days last June, engineers and construction crews held their breath as six million pounds of steel inched across an Alaska canyon.

Using custom 400-ton hydraulic rollers and rams, the Traylor Bros. team pushed the fully assembled superstructure across the Juneau Creek canyon while holding girder alignment within a 1-in. tolerance.

The successful launch had been years in the making and the challenges were steep. Environmental restrictions barred construction in the canyon. The remote site complicated access. Wind, alignment and enormous structural loads left little margin for error.

Gabriel Browner at the recent apprentice competition... He gets it. Union is not just about pay and benefits. It's helping those coming up behind you, looking out for the others on your crew.... it truly is a brotherhood. Mutual respect and building skills of the trade and building character.
