Mark your calendars! 🗓️ Celebrating 99 years since the release of the very first ever epic sci-fi film: Metropolis! 🧠🖐️❤️ Complete with full orchestration, the first film with feature-length music composed specifically to coordinate along with the movie 🎻🎺🎷

We will showcase this silent film with a silent auction! fairefellows will be present during the silent auction playing live music 🎵🎶🎵

These BTS shots showcase the immense work that went into the production of this film. The techniques they created laid the groundwork for many generations of filmmakers who followed 🎥🎬🎞️

This fundraiser will take place at the Orem Public Library on Tuesday, November 17th. 🎟️ Admission is free; classic concessions will be available 🍿🍫🥤

All proceeds go towards installing life-safety systems into the historic cinema we are currently working to secure as our new home 🏡 A cinema constructed at the same time as this film was released! 🏩

🎉 We are thrilled to be preparing for our next fundraiser! Tues, November 17th at the Orem Public Library, we will be showing the VERY FIRST EPIC SCI-FI FILM EVER CREATED: Metropolis! A Silent Film with a Silent Auction

Released 99 years ago, and set in 2026, Fritz Lang shares the message still relevant today: there can be no understanding between the mind and the hand unless the heart acts as mediator. 🧠🖐️❤️

For centuries upon centuries, stories had been told through images on stone, the written word, and live performances.

As this budding art form emerged, filmmakers began to explore how they could tell the stories they saw in their minds through this new medium

Fritz Lang invested $5 million dollars creating this film, a budget by today's standards of about $95 million

He was among the initial trailblazers creating some of the very first practical and special effects to be shown on the big screen around the world

We are so excited to showcase this crucial piece of film history that continues to inspire filmmakers today.

We also love that this film was a new release at the same time the historic cinema we are working to reopen was first opening to the community. We look forward to having updates to share as we progress through those steps!

We are also in the early stages of planning a Christmas event, as well as the New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball!

We look forward to providing many opportunities for connection in our community through the power of storytelling and film!!!

A ginormous wave of gratitude to all who participated in the kickoff of our capital campaign as we work to secure our new home!

It was incredible to be able to interact with so many wonderful members of our community, reminisce on the awesome events we shared at the historic Sticky Shoe cinema, and discuss our hopes and efforts towards reviving another historic space in our community!

We are so grateful for our special guest Jeff Brockton - we loved hearing about the experiences throughout his career in filmmaking!

We are SO EXCITED for our sequel to Camp Maven!

Celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of the greatest franchises in the horror genre! Watch Scream 1-3 with us at the Orem Public Library on September 12th beginning at 6:00 pm

Meet special guest Jeff Brockton, Ghostface stuntman from Scream 3 (and MANY more film favorites!), brought to you by Slash Lake City

Admission to this event is free, thanks to our partner, the Orem Public Library; add-on packages can get you pizza, a survival t-shirt and patch, and more! Check out our website for all package details!

We'll have classic concessions and Maven Merch available, as well as amazing vendors from the community! We'll also have a Trivia Game with prizes and a Ghostface Costume Parade!!!

All proceeds go to helping this non-profit organization find our new home! A fire the day after our last Camp Maven cost us our location in the AF historic cinema - we are in process with another local historic cinema we hope to call home soon! We greatly appreciate your help to get us there!
