Navajo Long Walk, an Indian Summer Films Production

Navajo Long Walk, an Indian Summer Films Production a one-hour film documentary about the history of the Navajo Long Walk Sumner, New Mexico, for four horrendous years.

Indian Summer Films, a Navajo independent film production company, is seeking production funds to produce a one-hour film documentary about the history of the Navajo Long Walk. The story takes place from 1863 to 1868 when the United States government incarcerated the Navajo people at Bosque Redondo, Ft. Over 8,000 Navajo men, women, and children were marched, on foot, 400 miles across Arizona and

New Mexico. Over 200 Navajo prisoners died along the trail and over 3,000 died in prison from starvation, extreme weather, disease, and homesickness. Many children were stolen, kidnapped by New Mexicans for slave and slave trades. Our goal is $600,000.00 for production and post-production and our address to inquire, etc., is indiansummerfilms-navajolongwalk

Indian Summer Films is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Its credit includes: War Code: Navajo, film about the Navajo Code Talkers and emmy award winner; Kinaalda, Navajo Rite of Passage, about a young Navajo girl going through her coming-of-age ceremony, and many other films.
