Flowers, incense, lamps, fruits and food are more than just items placed on a temple altar.
Each offering carries a deeper meaning, from impermanence and wisdom to generosity and gratitude. During Ullambana, these offerings may also be made as acts of filial piety, with the merit dedicated to parents, ancestors and all sentient beings.
