After the much-awaited event, UP Salida rolled its first General Assembly for AY 2026-2027 at AVR๐Ÿ’›. Projects were unveiled, and new executive officers were introduced, finally starting over (OVER?!) ๐Ÿคช again.

As new recruits move forward, so do our returning members, who both enjoyed their moment in the eventโœจ๏ธ. Paired with icebreakers and shared manifestations of the educational discussion of the state of the culture and arts, the GA was more than just a fun meeting but a beautiful awareness of how community cinema should be appreciated.๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ“ข

Fourteen years later, UP Salida has grown into more than a space for watching. We make films, tell stories, work with communities, and use cinema to look closer at the realities around us. Somewhere along the way, we learned that creating isnโ€™t just about having something to put on the big screen. Itโ€™s also about asking who gets to tell stories, whose realities are being seen, and what we can do with the stories we create.

And maybe thatโ€™s why leaving Salida is harder than you thought.

Because the films end. The screenings end. The projects end. But the stories and the people you make them with, stay.
