The Regent Theatre Te Awamutu Established in 1932, The Regent Theatre in Te Awamutu is one of NZ's grand old cinemas. It was then managed since 1974 by movie enthusiast Allan Webb.

Te Awamutu's cinema, the Regent Theatre, is renowned throughout the country for being one of a very small number of high-quality provincial cinemas. In addition to an all-round quality movie experience there is also an impressive collection of movie memorabilia lining walls and foyer, taking one back to the early days of New Zealand cinema. Since 1st April 2022 The Regent Theatre's operations have continued with The Theatre Beautiful, a charitable trust to ensure The Regent is maintained and remains a vibrant creative hub, and an icon for Te Awamutu. Having celebrated its 90th birthday in 2022 look forward in seeing you enjoy the cinema for many more years to come.
