Here is the visual guide for all the films and events coming up this week at the Village Theatre.
Thursday we have 2 family films.
Friday we are closed for Matariki.
Saturday we have a drama and a historical docodrama.
Sunday we have the Fifa Men's Quarter Final, then our next Classic Cinema film, and a new rom-com drama in the evening.

Here is this week's films.

Primavera (M) is historical biography drama about a talented violinist, Cecilia, who starts confined in an orphanage, who meets Vivaldi who becomes her teacher. Under his mentorship and through his music, she gains courage to break free from the life she was destined for and pursue her passion.
This is in Italian with subtitles. First screening is on Saturday 11th July at 7:30pm, and the Final is on Sunday 19th July at 4:45pm. This time is due to the power cut scheduled for the 19th.
A definite for any classical music lover.

This week we have some interesting new films. First up, Tuner (R13).
A talented piano tuner who suffers from hyperacusis discovers an unexpected aptitude for cracking safes, turning his life upside down. A laid-back rom-com crossed with a low-key crime thriller, combined with something more serious — unafraid to ask existential questions about overcoming a handicap that directly impacts one’s art. This has been compared with other well-written character-driven dramas like last year's Thelma and 90's Good Will Hunting. I'm definitely seeing this!
First screening is on Sunday at 7:30pm. And the Final is on Saturday 18th July at 7:30pm.
This is R-Rated so if you are young looking, please be flattered when we ask for ID. Thanks.

Looks like tomorrow (Tuesday 7th) might be a yucky rainy day. If it is, we will run another Rainy Day Movie at 2pm! We will screen Minions and Monsters (PG) so watch our website and Facebook for confirmation around 10am. If it's announced/confirmed you will be able to book tickets online!

A new film this weekend is the Italian Trifole (Truffles) (M). Screening only once!
In this bittersweet portrait of a vanishing rural way of life, Dalia travels to Piedmont to care for her aging grandfather Igor, an expert forager. Armed with his loyal dog Birba, she hunts for a prizewinning truffle to save his home.
This is screening only on Sunday 5th July at 4pm.

Grab your pink, practice your very best bend and snap, and get ready for the Village Theatre's 25th anniversary screening of Legally Blonde (PG).
On Saturday 4th July at 7:30pm we are having a Special Event at the theatre. This will include much pink, a prize draw and some wonderful comedy!

Heads up, we have a bunch of Special Events coming up at the Village Theatre over the next couple of weeks.

On Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June we have the TeensTheatre live production of Charles Dickens Christmas Carol. You can buy tickets for these via https://events.humanitix.com/a-christmas-carol-6mku8n48

This Sunday 21st June at 4pm we have our next Classic Cinema film Days of Heaven (PG) (1978). Come see this Oscar winning period drama.

On the next program we have a special 25th Anniversary screening of Legally Blonde (PG) (2001) on Saturday 4th July at 7:30pm. Dress up in your best pink, grab your BFF's and come for a most fun ever because "being true to yourself never goes out of style". Tickets go live on our website this week!

And for those Fifa Men's World Cup watchers, our Live Quarter Final screening is on Sunday July 12th @ 1pm (doors open 12.30pm).

Plus we have encore screenings this weekend of Sheep Detectives (PG) on Friday at 4pm, and Caterpillar (M) on Saturday at 4pm too.
