BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY has started it's NZIFF run here in New Zealand and after wowing overseas viewers the locally made film is finally here to mesmorise and make-cringe, in equal measure, it's homegrown audiences.
This is a very special film for us as the director Paloma is a former employee of Matakana Cinemas and the film is largely set in the Matakana/Omaha region.
We've seen it and it is quite simply amazing.
We have a very special one-off NZIFF screening at Matakana on August 27th that has all but sold out, however don't worry as the film opens wide in NZ cinemas On October 8th with special-screening details to come - stay tuned!
Off the back of a big win at Biarritz, this unmistakably New Zealand coming-of-age film is here to transport audiences to the lonely aching of adolescence.
