It's a sad day to say goodbye to a legend. Sam Neill and his films have been shown here at the Regent Theatre for almost 50 years, starting with Roger Donaldson's Sleeping Dogs in 1977.
A breakout role that shot him into the stratosphere.

Hollywood starred him in The Omen, Hunt For Red October and 3 Jurrasic Park movies to name only a few. But he always stayed loyal to his roots.

Jane Campion's masterpiece The Piano, Under the Mountain, Rams and our biggest, most beloved film in modern times, Hunt For The Wilderpeople, which filled every seat in the Theatre for its 10th anniversary release.

We will be playing some of Sam Neill's classics throughout the year. More info will be up on those to come.

Thank you Sam, for all the stories and characters. It has always been a treat for New Zealanders to see one of us up on the big screen.
