🎬 A New Zealand Film to Watch Out For! 🇳🇿

I'd like to draw your attention to an exciting upcoming film that should be firmly on every Kiwi movie lover's radar.

I Object is a New Zealand–Canada collaboration that was written, produced, and directed by acclaimed New Zealand filmmaker Andrew Niccol, and was filmed right here in Wellington.

This unique live-action animated fantasy drama follows 10-year-old Tom, who is struggling to come to terms with the loss of his father. Unable to connect with the people around him, Tom finds comfort in everyday household objects that reveal their true identities and begin speaking with him, helping him navigate his grief and healing journey.

The film features an impressive cast including:

As many of you know, I am passionate about supporting New Zealand filmmaking, and I Object is shaping up to be a very special production that showcases New Zealand talent both behind and in front of the camera.

I am delighted to let you know that Hawera Cinemas will be screening I Object from 23 July. As an independently operated community cinema, we love bringing New Zealand films to the big screen, and this is one that I am particularly excited about.
