Central Cinema Alexandra We are a community cinema run by volunteers dedicated to offering movies to people in our area of Central Otago.

Buy tickets online, or whenever our box office is open (30 minutes before any film). Our community-run cinema screens films with state-of-the-art digital projection, comfortable stadium seating, highest quality sound and vision, and the ‘feel good’ experience that comes from seeing a good movie in a warm and friendly environment. You can also rent the cinema for private viewings. Take your birthday party, work do, or fundraiser to the next level by hosting a movie viewing.

On Saturday 15 August, Central Cinema invites our community to come together to celebrate the life and remarkable legacy of our Patron, Sir Sam Neill.

Sir Sam's generosity, encouragement and love of cinema meant so much to Central Cinema and to our wider community. Throughout the day we'll be screening three films that reflect his extraordinary career, culminating in a free community screening of My Brilliant Career.
