"In this harrowing portrait, we follow three Palestinian journalists in northern Gaza during their perilous attempts to do their work.
They talk to residents, report on Israeli bombardments, sleep on nothing but a few folded sheets, and struggle with spotty phone service. They feel obligated to keep going, but in the meantime, they risk their lives in this conflict that truly spares no one. Yet, the mission always comes first, a seriously injured colleague reports from his hospital bed.
The journalistic message must be conveyed at all costs, as this pitch-black report shows, with gray and dark blue dominating the image: the gray of the endless amount of debris and rubble in bombed-out Gaza and the dark blue of the bulletproof press vests." — IDFA, 2024.
We are honoured to be joined by Mahmoud Atassi and Abdulqader Sabbah for an online Q&A, moderated by Sima Asvadi from Diem25 in Nederland.
