To the millions of people in the Hospitality Industry - I know the uncertainty you are all going through as you watch the world economies come crashing down and the fact that no one remembers that Hospitality was one of the first industries to be shut down. You are all there wondering what next. Many literally have been surviving on tips seeing that the industry was messed long time ago in terms of remuneration. Worrying is normal but as they say, “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old but on building the new.”
To everyone out there, if you have friends or family in the hospitality industry, please call and check up on them. If you have your favourite Bartender/Waiter/Waitress/Supervisor/Restaurant/Hotel/Club Manager/Bouncers/Barista/Tour Driver/Event Planner - please check up on them too.
To all my peeps in hospitality, it’s crazy I know but hold on tight. They say every storm runs out of rain just like every dark night turns into day. Learn to dance in the rain. And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain - when you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm is all about. Keep holding on. Through the unknown, we will find the new.
