Knowledge
When we ask what we know, we have three choices.
1
Admit that doubts dismiss our reason, how we collect information and the authorities we can trust. This is radical skepticism, or subjectivism.
In this direction we go beyond boundaries from sanity and craziness, life and dreams and we enter in the reign of art: maximum individual freedom and social chaos.
2
Find what works and negotiate a reliable knowledge never absolute and always questionable, but effective: pragmatism of sciences.
3
Jump over the fallen bridge of knowledge with beliefs: in the name of doubts (1) we dismiss questionable knowledge (2) but instead of admitting the defiance (1) we adhere to strong beliefs.
This creates ideologies that provide to the individual a delusional but comforting view, ultimately negating the individual freedom of in-group doubts, relegated doubts only as a tool to dismiss inquiries (2).
Every philosophy that does not question itself is ideological.
The knowledge becomes dogmatic assumptions, and the individual in-group doubts are not welcomed but dismissed: there is room only for orthodox fellowship or evil enemies.
Postomedrnism is freedom of the subject (1) or ideology (3)?
I have the personal suspicion that the entire media industry is politically weaponized to subjugate individuals to an ideology, the left as much as the right. The right uses tradition, religion and unproven conspiracy theories, but also the subjectivistical skeptical approach of knowledge by postmodernism approach (Continental philosophy by Nietzsche and Heidegger, deconstructionism by Foucault, critical theories by Derrida or Deleuze, gender studies by Judith Butler...) while claiming to bring to individual freedom of dismantling prejudices and systemica assumptions, I suspect that they actually apply their critical theories in the media debate only against their political enemies (reliable knowledge) but never to their own implicit beliefs.
When we reject completely the hope to have some reliable knowledge based on reason and pragmatic proof of work (2), are we really free from prejudices or are we forced to be subjugated to a dogmatic ideology?
Returning to Kant is our last hope.
