Se come sostantivo ‘hound’ si riferisce al segugio, una razza di cane particolarmente portata per la caccia, il verbo ‘to hound’ si traduce invece in ‘perseguire’, ‘rincorrere senza sosta’. In questo caso, i giovani ladri sono inseguiti sia da un gruppo di uomini, che dai loro segugi.

Inoltre, nel film è stato commesso un errore tecnico: i mantelli rossi. In Gran Bretagna, infatti, secondo i costumi, un cacciatore più esperto indosserebbe un mantello dal colore “rosa da caccia”, piuttosto che rosso.

While, as a noun, the word refers to the hound, a dog breed known for its gift for hunting practices, the verb ‘to hound’ also means ‘to persecute’, ‘to pursue rentlessly’. In this case, the young thieves are both being hunted by humans and their hounds.

Moreover, the filmmakers made a technical error by making the hunting cloths red. In the UK, according to tradition, a more experienced hunter would in fact be wearing what is referred to as a “hunting pink” cloth rather than red.
