The short documentary, “Footprints in History: Sardinia”, explores the formation of Dark Age Europe by recovering the lost history of an island’s struggle for independent rule in the face of colonisation from overseas. Written and presented by historian, Alex Metcalfe, and beautifully shot on location around the mountains and coasts of the island itself, by Nina Bumbalkova.
This lively and vivid exploration of landscape, art, architecture, and evidence from the time, gives a compelling account of power and peoples at the heart of the Mediterranean.
