TITLE: DO YOU KNOW WHAT A KINO CABARET IS? (ITALIANO A SEGUIRE)
A Kino Cabaret is an event that lasts from 3 to 7 days in which filmmakers screenwriters, actors, directors, DOP’s, sound designers, costume designers, production designers, make-up artists, musicians, production assistants, film buffs and all sorts of cinema aficionados get together in a single place, the Kino Lab, and produ
ce short films in very limited time (usually 48/72 hrs). Anyone can make a short film;
ALL YOU NEED IS THE WILL TO MAKE IT! The first step is presenting your idea during the production group reunion (don’t worry, you don’t have to wear a tie!), explain your film’s story, it’s themes, introducing the cast and crew and the technical equipment you will need.
-“So, i’m going to need two camels, 5 Russian ballerinas and a turkey”
-“Yeah… okay, well you can use the turkeys, if you find them…”
Once everyone’s had the chance to share their ideas, mini-troupes will be formed and will start shooting their film’s all around the city, and that’s where you come in: either directing, acting, setting the lights or choosing your lenses. With its beautiful hills, elegant colonnades, breathtaking architecture and lively piazzas, Bologna is the perfect set for a film production. The important thing is that you participate and collaborate on all the projects as if they were you’re own.
“Cut! That’s a wrap!” So, after the last scene is filmed and principal photography is over with, everyone is called back exhausted to the Kino Lab. Rivers of coffee and Red Bull will flow in order to stay awake all night, helping out with your individual skills and personal equipment.

When the final call to hand in your projects comes, even if you haven’t uploaded your prefer soundtrack or the color correction isn’t what you wanted: IT’S KINO FOLKS! YOU’RE GOOD WITH NOTHING, YOU’RE BETTER OF WITH SOMETHING, BUT DO IT ANYWAYS! (that’s the Kino Motto). The important thing is to do it together! Attach the Kino Bologna logo to your short film, render, export and deliver to the relevant authorities. STOP! TAKE A BREATH AND RELAX, THE THRILL IS OVER. You’ll have the opportunity to screen your short film, see your name and art maybe even on the big screen! All this will all be made possible thanks to your contribution and that of your team. And then… drinks and fun during the closing ceremony! Where you can make new friends, exchange contacts and find partners for future collaborations. Then you’ll be off to sleep knowing you’ve been part of an amazing adventure. The Kino Cabaret isn’t a competition, but this doesn’t you won’t have to push the envelope and give your best, ALWAYS! You’ll shoot your films for the pleasure of doing it, with people that share your same passion, to learn and to risk it, no matter what. Bring your ideas, together will find a way to make them come alive, regardless the time, the budget or the resources. This will be our first edition and Italian stage: so get ready folks to hop on a bus and tour the cinematic peninsula that is Italy together! The number of participants is limited. SCENA1. ESTERNO. GIORNO. BOLOGNA
TITLE: VUOI SAPERE COSA È UN KINO KABARET? ROOOOOOOLL…….. ACTION!!!!!!!!!!! Un Kino Kabaret è un evento che dura dai 3 ai 7 giorni in cui i filmmakers (scrittori, attori, registi, dop, sound designers, montatori,costumisti, scenografi, make-up artists, musicisti, segretari di edizione, appassionati di cinema…) si incontrano in un luogo, il Kino Lab, e producono cortometraggi in tempi brevi, di solito round (session) di 48/72 ore. Tutti possono realizzare un cortometraggio, BASTA VOLERLO! Come prima cosa devi presentare la tua idea al gruppo durante una riunione di produzione (tranquillo non serve la cravatta), descrivendone il soggetto e indicando cast artistico/tecnico ed attrezzature di cui hai bisogno.

Quando tutti hanno avuto la possibilità di esprimere le proprie idee, si iniziano a formare spontaneamente delle mini-troupe che iniziano a girare i loro corti in tutta la città. E tu sarai proprio lì, a dirigere, a recitare, a sistemare le luci e decidere che ottiche usare…Bologna è un set cinematografico perfetto: con i suoi colli, i portici eleganti, le piazze piene di persone e le sue architetture mozzafiato! L’importante è dare una mano agli altri e impegnarsi in tutti i progetti come se fossero i propri! Una volta finito di fare riprese si torna stremati al Kino Lab e si iniziano a montare i film. Si bevono litri di caffè e decine di RedBull per rimanere svegli tutta la notte, mettendo a disposizione di tutti le proprie apparecchiature e competenze tecniche.

Scaduto il termine di consegna non importa a che punto sia il tuo cortometraggio, se non si è riusciti a inserire la traccia musicale desiderata, o se la color correction non è venuta come prevista: IT’S KINO MAN! FAI BENE CON NIENTE, FAI MEGLIO CON POCO MA FALLO ADESSO”(Motto Kino)
L’importante è farlo insieme! Metti il logo di Kino Bologna come slide nel tuo corto, esporti e consegni il file a chi di dovere. Avrai la possibilità di vedere il tuo film, il tuo nome e la tua arte su uno schermo, magari in un cinema! E questo è solo merito tuo e dei tuoi compagni che hanno contribuito a rendere tutto questo possibile! E dopo una festa di chiusura dove ci si scambia contatti, numeri di telefono, email per future collaborazioni, si va a dormire soddisfatti e convinti di aver fatto una cosa bellissima. Il Kino Kabaret non è una competizione, ma ciò non vuol dire che non bisogna sforzarsi di dare il meglio, SEMPRE! Si girano i corti per il piacere di farlo, per stare insieme, per imparare, per rischiare. Portate le vostre idee e insieme penseremo a come realizzarle abbattendo ogni limite di tempo, budget e risorse. Questa è la nostra prima edizione e la prima tappa italiana: quindi ragazzi organizziamo un pullman e percorriamo la pen*sola del cinema insieme! Il numero dei partecipanti è limitato.
