From the desk of Wing Commander (retd)

Well, there it is. 😊

After months of writing, rewriting, editing, designing, and occasionally wondering what on earth I had gotten myself into, I can finally reveal the cover of my book:

SERVICE BEFORE SELF

(BUT BREAKFAST BEFORE SERVICE)

Or, What They Don’t Tell You About the National Defence Academy.

Published by Penguin Random House India, this is a novel about a bunch of teenagers who arrive at one of the toughest military academies in the world and discover ragda, friendship, absurd traditions, impossible seniors, terrifying Drill Ustads—and eventually, each other.

I’ve woven together absurd vignettes and tragicomic episodes into a tapestry of the routines, romances, failures, friendships and triumphs that define cadet life, and gradually transform a bunch of bewildered teenagers into officers and leaders of men.

It is irreverent. It is nostalgic. Occasionally philosophical . And frequently ridiculous :))

PRE-ORDERS ARE OFFICIALLY LIVE. 🎉

The book releases on 30 September 2026.
