The Goa Marathi Film Festival is without doubt one of the most high profile film festivals, taking place in Goa today with over 10,000 spectators, industry professionals, visiting A list talent, constant events, interactive sessions, workshops and the avid attention of the local and national media throughout the three day event. It is where many significant Marathi Films

have premiered and delivered exciting success stories, some of which have since received international acclaim and awards. Marathi occupies an unusual space in the heart of most of the Goans. Though various Marathi art forms like literature, theatre and music are tastefully pursued by Goans, in recent years, Marathi Cinema, a very important contemporary medium was distanced from mainstream celluloid interest for a number of reasons. To revive and infuse a breath of fresh air into this powerful medium, Vinsan World conceptualized this festival in the year 2008. This year marks the 8th consecutive year of the festival, which will feature an exciting array of Marathi films, award ceremonies, hosted parties and entertainment.

Day 2 at GMFF 2026: The Celebration Continues! ✨

After an unforgettable opening, Day 2 kept the magic alive with a packed lineup of stories, diverse voices, and exciting cinematic experiences across INOX Panjim and Maquinez Palace.

From Bhootam Bhayyayam, Fussclass Dabhade and Sabarbonda to Tighee, Uttar, Mardini, Snowflower and more, the day brought audiences closer to the best of Marathi storytelling.

The day also featured the Premieres of Pishwi and Portrait, alongside a special Short Films Screening.

And with Day 2 setting the stage for even more cinema… One more day. One more chapter. And plenty more magic awaits. 🎬

Day 1 at GMFF 2026 : What a Beginning! ✨

The Goa Marathi Film Festival opened its milestone 15th edition with a grand inauguration by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, in the presence of esteemed guests from film industry and an overwhelming response from cinema lovers.

On this occasion, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to veteran actor Mohan Joshi, honouring his remarkable contribution to Marathi cinema and theatre.

The main attraction of the day was the grand world Premiere of Marathi film ‘Bandkhor,’ directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. It received a huge applause from the audience.

The evening concluded with the screening of ‘Sakaal Tar Hou Dya,’ directed by Dr. Alok Jain.

Two more days. More films. More stories.The 15th edition has only just begun! 🎬
