Day 1 of MUN — Traditional Formals 🖤

Draping a saree on my Gen Z daughter for her school MUN (Model United Nations) was a whole different kind of assignment! 😄

MUN is an educational simulation where students represent different countries and debate global issues.

The event was spread over two days, and for Day 1, the dress code was Traditional Formals. So, I chose a classic black saree for her—but instead of a blouse, I paired it with a simple T-shirt.

A little traditional, a little modern, and just the right amount of Gen Z!

Because when Mom is a saree draper, even a school MUN becomes an opportunity to create a new drape!

I had a workshop to go to and I wanted to wear a saree, but I didn’t feel like wearing a regular blouse. 😄

So I picked up my simple black full-sleeve crop top and draped the saree over it.

And I actually loved how it turned out! ❤️
It’s comfortable, easy and gives the saree a completely different, more modern look.

I think sometimes we just need to look at our wardrobe a little differently. You don’t always need a new blouse to make your saree look new. 😉

I love experimenting with my sarees, and this time I skipped the regular blouse and paired it with a full-sleeve crop top.

Honestly, I didn’t expect such a simple change to make the saree look so different. Same saree, same drape… but the whole vibe feels fresh.

You don’t always need a new saree. Sometimes, styling it differently is enough.
