Lufthansa Technical Training Philippines is looking for Aircraft Technical Instructors for the following positions:
Two B1 Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Instructors
One B2 Avionics Instructor

The successful candidates will support the delivery of technical aircraft maintenance training and contribute to the development of aviation maintenance professionals in accordance with industry and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
• Graduate of Aviation Maintenance Technology, Avionics Technology or Aeronautical Engineering.
• Holder of a valid and current CAAP license with Airframe and Powerplant Rating or Aviation Maintenance Specialist Rating.
• Minimum of five years of verifiable hands-on aircraft maintenance experience on Airbus and/or Boeing aircraft, supported by official employment and maintenance records.
• Possession of aircraft type ratings on Airbus and/or Boeing aircraft.
• Technical competence in aircraft maintenance practices, troubleshooting, and compliance with aviation safety and regulatory requirements.
• Strong interest in teaching, coaching and mentoring aviation maintenance professionals, combined with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to undergo approved aircraft type training, instructional techniques training and regulatory courses as required.

This role offers a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with knowledge transfer while helping shape the next generation of aviation maintenance professionals.

Last 22 July 2026, we came together to honor the story of Aircraft Maintenance Department operations in Manila.

The tribute started with messages from the department's previous leaders sharing their fond memories of the milestones achieved, the remarkable challenges and countless flights supported through years of dedication, expertise and teamwork.

This was followed by speeches from the Vice President of Aircraft Maintenance Department then by the President and CEO of LTP. One message resonated in all the speeches that day: "This is not a goodbye, but a see you soon." It was a beautiful reminder that while this chapter may be ending, the aviation world is uniquely small that we will surely come across each other in the future.

As the celebration drew to a close, employees gathered in front of the Bay 7 hangar where Aircraft Maintenance Department Operations employees were given a water canon salute, for one final tribute. It is a timeless aviation tradition that symbolizes respect, gratitude, and farewell. The water canon salute served as a fitting send-off for the department wing, honoring the dedication, service, and legacy of the people who helped shape our journey.

Farewell for line maintenance outstation operations in Clark, Cebu and Davao transpired on July 23 and 24, respectively. The Aircraft Maintenance Department Operations of LTP is set to conclude on 31 July 2026.

Could this be a miscommunication between the Flight Crew and ATC?

UPDATE: The rudder of a parked Philippine Airlines plane was hit by Saudia plane at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 11:38pm, Tuesday.

No person was injured in the collision.

Initial investigation shows that the left wingtip of the Boeing 787 of Saudia, carrying 252 passengers, hit the rudder at the vertical stabilizer or tail fin of PAL’s Airbus 320 which was parked at Bay 25.

PAL’s rudder sustained extensive damage, while there was also damage on Saudia’s wingtip.

PAL confirmed that one of its parked aircraft was struck by another aircraft during ground maneuvering. There were no passengers or crew on board the plane at the time of the incident.

“The aircraft has been withdrawn from service pending a technical assessment,” PAL said in a statement.

The Saudia jet, which was reportedly headed to Jeddah, had to cancel its flight.

The cause of the aircraft collision is still under investigation.
