Movies at Dungarvan

Movies @ Dungarvan (formerly SGC Dungarvan): great fun for kids and all the family with special family rates. Movies @ Dungarvan has been at the forefront of cinema technology since we opened in 2005 being the first cinema in Ireland to convert to full digital projection. The first cinema outside Dublin to have 3D projection, we have brought live in HD, Opera, Theatre, Concerts and Musicals from around the world to your doorstep. This year we have brought live Ballet in 3D and plan to bring many more sports and cultural events for our customers to watch. SGC Dungarvan selected Sony to supply an end-to-end solution capable of providing viewers with a superior visual experience. The Sony Digital Cinema 4K projection system used for the screening is comprised of Sony SRX 320 4K Projector’s and RealD 3D lenses. Sony has revolutionalised the movie experience for cinema-goers across Europe. From the provision of compelling, unique content to a state of the art technology infrastructure underpinning this, Sony delivers a complete digital cinema experience. It is only through its industry leading 4K technology that Sony has been able to create a superior screening event that facilitates a fully immersive 3D experience and enhanced 2D quality. This experience is enhanced through the provision of new and different content, from live events to movies. David McIntosh, Sony’s head of digital cinema in Europe, commented: “We are delighted to have partnered with SGC Dungarvan to upgrade its Screens to Sony 4K digital projection and offer new and exciting experiences to its customers.
