One of the chief architects of Russia's full scale war of aggression against Ukraine. Under his command, Russian Navy lost more than a dozen warships including the guided missile cruiser Moskva. After Ukraine practically ended the Russian military presence in the Black Sea, he was removed from his position in 2024.
