Does abrupt weaning cause unnecessary stress for lambs?

According to Stacey Bruna, abrupt weaning is the recommended approach - provided lambs are properly prepared and already familiar with their feed. Done right, it reduces stress and keeps lambs focused on growth.

Good weaning outcomes start with hitting the right milestones. 🐑

Lambs should be at least 35 days old, around 2.5 times their birth weight and be eating 250g of creep per day before weaning begins - once those are in place, abrupt weaning works well.
