At our meeting last night, we agreed on the dates of next four meetings.

We’ll be meeting (via Zoom) at 6.00pm on the second Tuesday of each month, being

8th September
13th October
10th November
8th December

(We’ve agreed on a break in August, as usual.)

This Thursday, East Parade bowling club are holding a dementia friendly fun day with all proceeds going to local dementia groups to enable them to put on activities for people living with and alongside dementia. The club have worked hard to prepare a lovely fun afternoon, accessible to all- please support if you are able! 💙💙

Join us for a cuppa and relaxed and friendly chat. You are welcome to bring along cared for to this group.

It’s a great opportunity to meet fellow carers, share experiences, and find out more about the support available from our team of staff and volunteers.

💙 Dementia Friends Session – Bridge Community, Rhyl 💙

Becky Bowcott had the pleasure of delivering a Dementia Friends session for the wonderful staff and volunteers at Bridge Community, Rhyl on Tuesday.

The session forms part of their commitment to becoming affiliated with Dementia Friendly Rhyl, helping to create a more understanding, inclusive, and supportive community for people living with dementia and their families.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, shared their experiences, and pledged to make a difference. Every Dementia Friend helps build a kinder, more dementia-friendly Rhyl.

Together, we're making our community a place where people living with dementia are understood, respected, and supported. 💙

💙 Sesiwn Ffrindiau Dementia – Cymuned Bridge, Y Rhyl 💙

Cafodd Becky Bowcott y pleser o gyflwyno sesiwn Ffrindiau Dementia i'r staff a'r gwirfoddolwyr gwych yng Nghymuned Bridge, Y Rhyl ddydd Mawrth.

Mae'r sesiwn yn rhan o'u hymrwymiad i ddod yn gysylltiedig â Chyfeillgar i Ddementia Y Rhyl, gan helpu i greu cymuned fwy deallus, cynhwysol a chefnogol i bobl sy'n byw gyda dementia a'u teuluoedd.

Diolch yn fawr iawn i bawb a gymerodd ran, a rannodd eu profiadau, ac a addawodd wneud gwahaniaeth. Mae pob Ffrind Dementia yn helpu i adeiladu Y Rhyl sy'n fwy caredig ac sy'n fwy cyfeillgar i ddementia.

Gyda'n gilydd, rydym yn gwneud ein cymuned yn lle lle mae pobl sy'n byw gyda dementia yn cael eu deall, eu parchu a'u cefnogi. 💙

☀️💙 Fans vs Dementia Walk – Important Update 💙☀️

It is with a very heavy heart that we have made the difficult decision to postpone our Fans vs Dementia sponsored walk, which was due to take place this Wednesday.

Like many people, we spent weeks hoping and praying that it wouldn't rain... unfortunately, it seems we may have overdone it! 🌞🥵

With temperatures forecast to reach around 30°C and heat warnings in place, we simply cannot take any risks with the health and wellbeing of our residents, staff, volunteers, and supporters. Whilst we are incredibly disappointed, the safety of those taking part must always come first.

We know many of you were looking forward to joining us, and we cannot thank everyone enough for the amazing support shown so far. From donations and sponsorship to offers of help, sharing our posts, and volunteering your time, the response from our community has been overwhelming.

The good news is that this is a postponement, not a cancellation. We are already looking at alternative dates and will announce a new date as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Dementia UK will still benefit from every penny raised, and together we will make sure this wonderful event happens safely.
