🚨Plymouth, we have a problem — and a chance to fix it.
REEL Cinema (The Royal) has just been ranked #5 on the “Buildings at Risk list" by Plymouth & Sutton MP Luke Pollard, who called it one of our “iconic buildings… left to rot.”
But he also spotlighted something incredible: YOU.
He praised the Save the Royal campaign as proof that Plymouth’s heritage still matters to its people.
If you want to see The Royal restored instead of erased, hit follow, share our mission, and stand with us.
Heritage doesn’t save itself — communities do.

I’ve published my 2026 Buildings at Risk list for Plymouth 👇
This year’s list highlights 10 buildings across our city that have been left empty, neglected or at risk - including the Palace Theatre, Royal Fleet Club and Reel Cinema.
I’ve also added the Money Centre, sitting alongside Colin Campbell House, to reflect the huge opportunity we have as part of the city centre’s regeneration.
We’ve already seen real progress as a result of this campaign. Buildings like the tidal pool at Devil’s Point have been repaired, and Pounds House has now been sold - delivering on my challenge to “invest or sell”.
There’s also been huge local support for saving places like the Reel Cinema, with the Save the Royal campaign showing how much people care about Plymouth’s heritage.
But too many buildings are still being left to deteriorate.
My message to owners is simple: invest or sell to someone who will.
I’ll keep pushing until these buildings are brought back into use and playing a positive role in our city.
