Where's Our Spake Gone? A Heritage Lottery funded project looking at the Black Country Dialect.

‘Where’s Our Spake Gone?’ is an exciting Heritage Lottery Funded project that aims to record and celebrate the distinctive dialect and language of the Black Country. The project is focusing upon the four Black Country towns of Tipton, Gornal, Oldbury and Cradley Heath. The project features the recording of up to seventy new oral history interviews; the production of contemporary photographic essay

s and short films; creative workshops; nine new artists’ commissions; four celebratory events featuring performances and exhibitions; the publication of a project book and accompanying DVD.
