Our Shaun of the Dead Staff Pick tomorrow night already has 45 of you booked in – a very respectable turnout! 👏

Unfortunately for Eilish, it's still not enough to claim the "Best Taste in Film" crown... yet. 😉

Every second Thursday, one member of The Playhouse team gets to choose a favourite film to screen on the big screen. It's become a bit of a staff competition, with the biggest audience earning ultimate bragging rights.

If you've never seen Shaun of the Dead on the big screen, now's your chance. Edgar Wright's iconic zombie comedy perfectly mixes razor-sharp humour, unforgettable characters, brilliantly choreographed horror and some of the most quotable lines in British cinema.

So grab your mates, head to The Wi******er... well, The Playhouse 😉... and enjoy a nice cold pint while you wait for all of this to blow over. 🍺🧟

At The Playhouse, we believe everyone deserves the magic of the big screen — which is why we created a schedule of Community Screenings specially designed with support, comfort, and accessibility in mind. This week’s highlights include… ✨

🌊 A Baby & Me screening of Disney’s Live-Action Moana on Tuesday 21st July @ 1:30pm. These screenings are relaxed with low lighting and volume levels so you can look after your little one while also enjoying the on-screen action. You’re free to move around and make noise as needed, so there’s no need to worry about disturbing others. These screenings are also a great opportunity to meet other parents from the local community.

Our Aardman 50th Anniversary celebrations continue this week with another cracking Wallace & Gromit Double Bill! 🪒🍞 🐾

This time, join everyone’s favourite inventor and his faithful four-legged friend for A Close Shave and A Matter of Loaf and Death as we continue celebrating 50 Years of Clay with some of Aardman’s most beloved stop-motion classics back on the big screen.

And because it’s the Summer holidays, we’ve gone all out with DAILY £4 Kids Club screenings, so there are plenty of opportunities for families to enjoy these iconic British animations together!

💬 Just a wee reminder: The Playhouse is CLOSED today - Tuesday 14th July !

We’re taking a short break while some important maintenance is carried out on our cinema screens.
