🎬 Charity screening: CHORNOBYL 22

A short documentary by Ukrainian filmmaker Oleksiy Radynski.

During the Russian occupation of the Chornobyl Zone in early 2022, a local informant is clandestinely filming the Russian troops. We hear the workers of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Station discuss their experiences during the Russian military takeover of their facility – an act of nuclear terror which threatened another global disaster at this site. Past and present catastrophic scenarios intertwine in this macabre episode of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Developed as part of the Reckoning Project , a media and forensic initiative investigating Russian war crimes in Ukraine.

Ukrainian film Traces was awarded the Best Documentary Film at the Panorama Audience Awards at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2026.

Directed by Alisa Kovalenko and Marysia Nikitiuk and produced as a collaboration between Ukraine and Poland, the documentary draws attention to conflict-related sexual violence during Russia’s war against Ukraine. It is a story of survivors told by a survivor.

The film tells the stories of six Ukrainian women — from Donbas to the Kherson region and the Kyiv area — who survived conflict-related sexual violence and torture during Russia’s aggression and refuse to remain silent.

Among the main characters are a former teacher, entrepreneur, farmer, and civil servant. All their stories are connected through the personal experience of Iryna Dovhan — a former captive, head of , and activist who documents the testimonies of survivors in de-occupied territories of Ukraine.

Between February 2022 and December 2024, the United Nations in Ukraine documented 433 cases of conflict-related sexual violence. The real numbers are likely much higher, as many cases go unreported due to stigma, fear, and ongoing insecurity.

depicts Russian war crimes through real stories and highlights the pursuit of truth as a component of the resilience of Ukrainian women — creating a collective portrait of trauma while opening a space for hope.

We are grateful to everyone who came along on 20 March to the documentary screening organised by DOCUA House. It was a powerful and moving evening, bringing people together to witness the story of two Ukrainian female combat medics and their lives on the front lines.

Through deeply personal footage filmed on mobile phones and body cameras, Cuba & Alaska offered a rare and intimate insight into courage, resilience, humour, and friendship amid war.
