When exam stress triggered OCD behaviours and anorexia for one young girl, she became incredibly unwell and was admitted to hospital. Visiting the MediCinema helped to bring the family close once again, providing the chance to reconnect and find hope in their situation.

💫 2 marathons in 1 week! 💫
We're still buzzing from TCS London Marathon and the incredible targets smashed by Team MediCinema (time and fundraising!). But whilst everyone else recovers, one member of Team MediCinema is lacing up his running shoes in preparation for his next marathon - just 7 days since he crossed that finish line and achieved his PB!

Meet Matt, is a long-time fundraiser for our charity, Birmingham-based GP and now volunteer at our new MediCinema at Birmingham Children's Hospital:

"Pushing through that second marathon is about more than just endurance; it’s about resilience, determination, and doing something genuinely tough for a cause I believe in."

We need to talk about Kiltwalk! This weekend, two of our own team from the MediCinema at Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children/Queen Elizabeth University Hospital completed the 14.6 mile Big Stroll from Clydebank to Balloch. Kate (Cinema Manager) and Yvonne (Deputy Cinema Manager) took on the challenge to raise funds for our adult screenings at their MediCinema. Together they have raised an amazing £1,640 including gift aid. 🙌

Thank you both for everything you do for the patients at MediCinema! 🏅

Meet Hannah, one of five amazing runners taking on The London Marathon this weekend in aid of MediCinema.

Hannah is a Nurse at St Thomas' Hospital, home to our pop-up MediCinema, and provides clinical support for patients at our screenings. She has a deep understanding of how MediCinema screenings can positively impact hospital stays for patients and their families:

"I have seen first-hand just how difficult hospital life can be not only for patients, but for their families too... I’m running for my patients to give them those moments of escape and normality!"

Darren Royle, CEO of Oldham Athletic Football Club, joins Team MediCinema at The TCS London Marathon this weekend!

We caught up with him about his personal connections to families who have benefitted from MediCinema and how training has been going for him.

"I knew two parents of children who were profoundly and positively supported by their MediCinema experiences at hospitals whilst their young children were receiving life saving treatment."
