A big thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday for our Solidarity Event for Palestine. It was amazing to see so many people come together to watch the documentary and take part in the Q&A and the drinks and raffle afterwards. The questions and insights shared really added to the conversation, and we’re grateful for everyone’s thoughtful contributions.

Thanks to everyone who joined us last Sunday ; it was really lovely to meet many local families for our relaxed screening of Back to the Future.
And a great way to end our programme of events for neurodivergent and SEND young audiences.

Happy new year everyone! We’re back this January for two screenings produced in collaboration with

Saturday 18 January

SHORT/CUT
The last one of this lovely series of animated shorts without dialogue!
SHORT/CUT is an event where children with and without disabilities can come together to enjoy a screening and an art workshop together.
We’ll screen the second programme (go to link in bio for the list of shorts) and we’ll be making prints with shaving foam, paint and bubbles for a sensory art workshop.

Tickets £5 for children, £1 for carers or free if cost is a barrier.

Sunday 26 January

Relaxed, subtitled screening of Back to the Future, curated by local film-maker Kiefer Harper.
This screening is designed for SEND and neurodivyoung audiences (please go to link in bio for more details on accessibility or message us).

We’re back with a new series of screenings for families!

SHORT/CUT is an afternoon event for families where children with and without disabilities can come together to enjoy a screening and an art workshop together.

We’ve selected some great animated shorts from all over Europe which we’ll screen across two different programmes, with sensory workshops to match.

First event is Saturday 5 October at Priory Court Community Centre.

Tickets for children are £5 and just £1 for their grown ups!
If you wish to attend but cost is a barrier, then there are limited free tickets available.

We’re looking for micro-sponsors! Are you a local business that would like to support our inclusive sensory film screenings for disabled and non-disabled children to enjoy together?

We’re launching a micro-sponsoring campaign called BUY ME A TICKET.
One ticket is just £5 and you can buy as many as you like to enable us to host our event SHORT/CUT at different venues in Waltham Forest throughout the year.

As a thank you, your logo will be screened at each event and will be featured on our social media platforms.

SHORT/CUT is a programme of screenings of short animated films without dialogue and a sensory workshop. There’s really nothing like it out there for children with (and without) SEND.

Really excited to announce another collaboration! and are joining forces again for SHORT/CUT, an afternoon event for families where children with and without disabilities can come together to enjoy a screening and a sensory workshop together.

The Social Cinema have chosen short animations without dialogue to ensure the screenings are accessible to all children attending. 
We also wanted to encourage all children to engage with a type of storytelling that creatively relies on other forms of communication other than verbal, such as music, gesture and sound.

Like all Together Space’s events, SHORT/CUT will be a space where families of disabled children can feel safe, supported and share experiences, without stigma or awkwardness. And a space for families with neurotypical children to come and learn about learning disabilities and neurodiversity.

This March event will be but this is a trial event and we’re planning to bring more of these to different venues around the borough later in the year.

Lovely to be part of the event on Sunday, organised in collaboration with .inc

We really enjoyed seeing so many families having fun with the overhead projector and making up stories with our shadow puppets, lighting gels and transparencies.
It was great to end the event with our immersive lightshow. Scroll to see a few pics, it was really magical.

Also great to see and work their magic with the children and to accompany their workshop with an oil wheel projector.
Speaking of which, massive thanks to for making this possible with their support and equipment.

After an Alternate Reality Game, a workshop with .responders , a project of cooperative creativity and a closing event with workshops, screening and a panel discussion, we can now consider our STOWAWAY project complete.

Building a Future Machine by artist Rachel Jacobs is one of the workshops we’ll offer on Saturday 18 November at our closing event at

Based on the 30 year project ‘When the Future Comes & the Future Machine’ the workshop will involve imagining and designing your own Future Machine. This is a collaborative making session exploring the importance of science, data, myth, art and ritual to how we navigate the impact of environmental change in our everyday lives, seeking to answer the question… what will we need when the future comes?

Rachel Jacobs is an award winning artist, researcher, consultant and interactive designer. She co-founded the artist-led collective Active Ingredient in 1996, the commercial games company Mudlark Production Company in 2007 and completed a Doctorate in Computer Science in 2014.
