New Dot Cinema

With our October film night falling on the day before Halloween we knew we needed the perfect film to get you all in the spooky season spirit, and we think 'Get Out' is exactly that.

Following last years screening of Alfred Hitchock’s genre-defining ‘Psycho’, we wanted something that moulded not only what modern horror is, but what it can be. ‘Get Out’ is a film that is cleverly crafted with spine chilling thrills, as well as a quick yet dark humour and social commentary.

You can your tickets to see ‘Get Out’ on Friday 30th October by clicking the links on our website or instagram stories, or you can pop into Porters Delicatessen for cash payments!

The inspiration for ‘Rebuilding’ only makes the film more poignant. Director Max Walker-Silverman was inspired when his grandmother’s house sadly burned down; however, the fire itself is not what influenced the filmmaker most, but rather it was seeing how powerful it was when people came together to help and comfort each-other.

The film's 2025 release couldn’t have felt more timely and topical, with the number of wildfires across the globe and California seeing disastrous early-year fires.
This year's extraordinarily hot summer, and the UK seeing so many fires, we felt it important to show this film now.
