We've already spent an evening with Kiki and visited the world of Whisper of the Heart. Now it's time to get a little smaller.

Our next Studio Ghibli screening is Arrietty, showing at Leigh Film Factory on Wednesday 28th October at 7.30pm.

A beautifully animated story about friendship, family and two very different worlds coming together, Arrietty is a lovely addition to our continuing run of Ghibli films.

The film will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles.

We've got something a little different coming up during Fear at the Factory.

On Tuesday 27th October at 2pm we're bringing Co**se Bride to the big screen as our October Pay As You Feel screening, with support from Launch North West.

Tim Burton's beautifully macabre stop-motion film takes us into a strange world of romance, death and the afterlife, with a story that's spooky, funny and full of Burton's distinctive gothic style.

It's a great way to get into the Halloween spirit — and because it's Pay As You Feel, you choose what you pay.

Doors open at 1pm / Film starts at 2pm

Supported by Launch North West

Fear at the Factory presents a special double bill on Saturday 17 October:

THE REPTILE

A mysterious curse, a remote Cornish village and one of Hammer's wonderfully atmospheric monsters.

PLAGUE OF THE ZOMBIES

A sinister village, unexplained deaths and one of Hammer's most unsettling journeys into the world of the undead.

The evening will be introduced by Ian Taylor, a regular writer and editorial team member of We Belong Dead magazine and contributor to a host of horror and film publications.

It's a chance to see two classic Hammer films together on the big screen, as part of our fifth Fear at the Factory season.

That's the question at the heart of Charlie Shaw's Revenge, the next film in our Fear at the Factory season.

A group of workers are preparing for the reopening of a remote adventure park when they find themselves being stalked by a silent killer. Cut off from rescue, the survivors have to band together and fight for their lives - all while knowing that the killer is one of them.

This is a brand new British independent horror from Drop Dead Films, written and directed by John Langridge and filmed in East Sussex. The film combines traditional slasher elements with professional circus performers and a cast that includes Mark Benton, Bill Fellows, Cerys Knighton and James Payton.

If you like supporting independent filmmaking - and you like your horror with a mystery at its centre - make this one part of your Fear at the Factory October.

Fear at the Factory heads to South Korea on Thursday 22 October with Yeon Sang-ho's Train to Busan.

When a zombie outbreak begins spreading across the country, a group of passengers find themselves trapped aboard a train travelling from Seoul to Busan. With the infection spreading rapidly through the carriages, there's nowhere to run and very little room to hide.

First released in 2016, Train to Busan became an international hit and is still regarded as one of the standout zombie films of recent years.

We'll be showing the film in its original Korean language with English subtitles.
