Short Platform returns to Phoenix on the 10th September to screen eleven amazing independently made short films.

Our first featured film is The Sale written and directed by Arif Ali.

Harry, a door to door salesman with no luck in sales is working overtime. Just when he expects nothing to happen, Craig drags him in to his house to show him the the man he killed.

The premise came from Arif's first job in sales spending hours in the cold with terrible luck and met by some interesting characters. Some of them would invite you into their homes so he thought, what could be the worst-case scenario?

PLUS, this bank holiday weekend is our SOUND ON SCREEN festival – bringing you a sensational selection of music on film, live music from Sofar Sounds, River Soar Records vinyl fair, and a special festival menu featuring guest beers and signature cocktails 🍹

We’re kicking off with Jamaican roots reggae classic ROCKERS at 7.30pm tonight, followed by a DJ set from Leicester’s own KING FLAME SOUND SYSTEM who’ll be playing the very best in reggae, ska, dub and dancehall 💿

Then, on Saturday, we’re serving up a platter of iconic music films including Bob Dylan doc DON’T LOOK BACK, THE GIRL CAN’T HELP IT, CHUCK BERRY: HAIL! HAIL! ROCK ‘N’ ROLL!, URGH! A MUSIC WAR, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, AND STOP MAKING SENSE as well as live music from Heather McDowall and Lindsey in our Café Bar 🎵

On Sunday, the festivities continue with WOODSTOCK, THELONIOUS MONK: STRAIGHT, NO CHASER, DANCE CRAZE, PINK FLOYD – THE WALL, TOMMY, AND BABYLON plus more live music in our Café Bar from Gudness and CJ Pandit 🎸
