Today's the 2nd anniversary of me putting in my first ever film license booking request and starting Glossop Cinema Club in 2024. Thanks to everyone who's supported the night, it wouldn't be possible without the local community.

With that community spirit in mind, our next screening is 'Stone of Stone' a DIY low-budget heist comedy made by the Edale community!

A real labour of love, cobbled together over 4 years and after a series of showings in Edale, and two nights at the Buxton Fringe, they're bringing their homemade movie to Glossop with an in-person filmmaker Q&A.

I'm hoping this will be a really inspiring event and, who knows, maybe it'll get you started on your own Glossop-made movie masterpiece as well?

Glossop Cinema Club returns on Sunday July 12th for a 30th anniversary screening of a cult comedy favourite.
At the height of his powers, hot on the successes of Ace Ventura, The Mask, Dumb & Dumber, and Batman Forever; Jim Carrey took a huge payday to headline this dark comedy from director Ben Stiller and writer Judd (Knocked Up) Apatow.

Confounding audiences upon its release for subverting expectations and twisting Carrey's persona into that of a relentless stalker, the film has grown into a cult favourite, and features a stellar supporting cast including early roles for Jack Black and Owen Wilson to name a couple.
