OUR STORY

Since our inaugural screening of Woody Allen’s ‘Love and Death’ on the 20th September 1979 when we operated as a Film Society, Chichester Cinema at New Park has blossomed into a nationally acclaimed and locally loved independent cinema. We screen the very best in film from around the world; we host an annual film festival and screen live performance events too.

For this year's finale to our open air screenings weekend, we will be showing the fantastic, Song Sung Blue (2025).

For over 30 years, the Chichester International Film Festival has brought world-class cinema, inspiring filmmakers and unforgettable cultural experiences to our community.

Today, rising costs threaten the sustainability of independent arts organisations across the country. So, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign to ensure that the Festival continues to flourish while helping us expand the outreach programmes that make a real difference in our community.
