Our Cult Clubhouse screenings have always celebrated and charted the decline of the home release model. Well, with the news of NETFLIX emerging as front runner in the bid to buy WARNER BROS… the physical media apocalypse may finally be here!

Hundreds of your favourite childhood characters and stories (yes, including Gremlins) are now IP assets in one of the largest acquisitions of its kind. Purchased by a company whose mission statement is actively moving away from home and cinema distribution towards a more “convenient” streaming model.

So this Christmas, maybe ask Santa for a hard copy of your favourite movie while you still can. Oh, and book your tickets for this Sundays screening of GREMLINS… specially presented on ex-rental VHS & Blu Ray, courtesy of your Friendly Neighbourhood Cinema x

Our festive “Ginema” screenings of Love Actually were an annual tradition pre-pandemic and after a long absence it’s a joy to finally return! A fantastic Stourbridge born independent, that are incredibly supportive of local businesses and brew quacking beer 🍻 Green Duck was the very FIRST venue to hire me as FNC and the first step on this whole amazing 5(ish) year journey - making this return a very special Christmas special for which we’d love(actually) for you to come celebrate with us 💕

Continuing our long established tradition of honouring physical media, this Sundays 28 DAYS LATER screening will be presented on both VHS* and DVD to pay tribute to the GREAT FORMAT MIGRATION of our films release year: 2002. The final days of VHS as the torch is passed to the new more “digitally versatile” emerging DVD format - and at this screening you get to experience the switch for yourself! 📺
