What happens when your neighbour goes completely wild?

On a country road in Devon, intensive dairy farmer Derek Banbury is horrified at the โ€œdevastationโ€ of his neighbourโ€™s once productive farm. Dubbed a โ€œmaverick rewilderโ€ by the media, Derek Gow is an unrepentant ex-sheep farmer hellbent on turning his land into an oasis for nature.

Shot over three years the film charts the two Derekโ€™s turbulent relationship, as tempers fray, wild animals run amok, and the land is radically transformed. Made by award-winning director James Dawson, itโ€™s a film about land use and farming told by farmers. Blunt, funny and heartwarming in equal measure.

Award-winning director James Dawsonโ€™s new documentary is set in the rolling hills of Devon, telling the story of two neighbouring farmers who share the same name but take radically different approaches to land use.

In equal parts hilarious and moving, the film shines a light on the vital debate surrounding the future of rural Britain, encouraging conversation around how farming and nature restoration might work together.

Running time 88 mins
Cert 15

After the film, you are warmly invited to stay, have another drink and join us in a friendly chat about the film!
