🚨 PIRATE SIGHTING ALERT! 🦜🏴‍☠️

Coastal residents in Garmouth & Kingston, Findochty, and Nairn have reported unusual activity… mysterious figures in tricorn hats, suspiciously shiny cutlasses, and a lot of confused “Arrr!” noises drifting across the shore.

Witnesses say a group of pirates has been spotted wandering around asking for directions — apparently, their map is upside down, and they’re trying to find their own show.

No need to panic: it’s just The Mystery of the Pirate Lagoon sailing in next weekend.
A swashbuckling adventure for all the family — and these pirates need all the help they can get.

🎭 The Amazing Thing 🎭

What’s in the box? A strange and weird thing? Something terrible, or a thing of beauty?

Storyteller, Peter Grimm opens the box to find the ‘Thing’ that takes him on an unusual journey that weaves its way through a medley of well known Brother’s Grimm tales, to finally unlock his imagination and free his stories.

A truly original story told with puppets, acting and live music.

Fun, inspiration and delight for all the family.

Peter Grimm is a descendant of the famous Brothers Grimm. He has inherited the tradition of his ancestors and tells their stories as they were written down 200 years ago.

But, with his inheritance also comes a ghost. The brothers locked something away in a box when they wrote down and fixed the stories. They threw the box into the sea, and now that something, that rogue and wild element of story, has returned with the tide. Peter opens the box and sets free the “amazing thing” to add its influence in the sea of stories.

The show is about the unlocking of imagination in relation to stories, hung on some well-known Grimm classics. It can be useful to start somewhere familiar and then take a detour into the unknown. A rogue or surprise element can wake up the imagination and give a new slant to a predictable tale.

The Tom Campbell Trio is a vibrant presence in the Scottish traditional music scene, blending Scottish and Irish influences with contemporary innovation. Formed in 2018, the trio consists of Tom Campbell on flute, Callum Convoy on bodhrán, and Gillie O’Flaherty on guitar. Their sound fuses original compositions with traditional folk, infused with a modern edge. The trio garnered significant recognition as finalists at the BBC Folk Awards 2019 and as winners of the 2021 Battle of the Folk Bands.

Macbeth: Blood & Bluegrass by The Barden Party is a critically acclaimed musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic play. Set to a score of Americana and bluegrass music, this version of the bard’s tale blends classic literature with a modern twist alongside original arrangements of the music of Mumford and Sons, Dolly Parton and The SteelDrivers, to create an emotional, accessible, toe-tapping theatrical experience.

The work was devised and developed in Wellington, New Zealand and toured around NZ and Australia from November 2024 to March 2025, winning Best Theatre Week 2 at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and receiving multiple five-star reviews along the way. The Barden Party then brought the production to The Edinburgh Fringe in August 2025, where it received five-star reviews from Theatre Weekly, Musical Theatre and The Recs, along with standing ovations from audiences.

You’ll never see the notorious Scottish Play in the same way again!
