“ … this street became world famous when a community protest disrupted a Home Office raid to remove two people suspected of immigration violations. At the heart of the protest was a memorable act of solidarity - local residents and immigration activists demanded peacefully but emphatically that the detainees were part of the community. And in an unprecedented move, the two men - aided by human rights lawyer Aamar Anwar - were released from a police van marooned in a sea of people, back into the heart of Pollokshields.”

"Everybody to Kenmure Street beautifully and powerfully demonstrates the innate and deep decency of our people whilst also highlighting the institutional mannerisms and structures that are the opposite of this. It's a documentary about what we as society often do not see, but what we can do when we do see it.“
- Emma Thompson, Executive Producer
Screening on Saturday 11th, 7 for 7.30 at Seil Hall. Tickets on the door, £8 cash or card

“The film shows a powerful moment of collective resistance, where everyday people stand up against heavy-handed policing, fuelled by a strong commitment to justice. It really highlights that the scottish spirit of defiance refuses to be quiet.
It is also a reminder that even the slow-moving systems can be challenged when we come together.
We really encourage everyone to go watch it and be inspired. This is a reminder to keep fighting and not to look away. It shows how small actions, like showing up and being present, can create a big impact.”
