بعد ما استنيتوا معانا لفترة طويلة اخيراً بنعلن عن برنامج إفتتاح زاوية في سينما كريم: "يوسف شاهين: النسخ المرممة"

بعد مرور ١٠ سنوات على الرحيل، تدعوكم زاوية لمشاهدة ٢٠فيلم مُرمم من أهم أعمال يوسف شاهين بيشوفها الجمهور في نسختها الجديدة لأول مرة على مدار عشرة أيام من 12 لـ 22 سبتمبر.

مشروع الترميم اشتغلت عليه شركة أفلام مصر العالمية مع شركاء مصريين واوروبيين اجتمعوا للاحتفال بمشوار يوسف شاهين السينمائي الطويل ولإعطاء حياة جديدة لأفلامه وإعادتها لشاشة السينما من جديد.

بالإضافة لعروض الأفلام، هيكون فيه برنامج ورش ونقاشات ومحاضرات هيتم الإعلان عن تفاصيلها قريباً.

The wait is finally over! We are very excited to be sharing with you our opening event, in our new home in Cinema Karim coming on the 12th of September!

"Youssef Chahine: The Restoration Project"

20 restored classics by Youssef Chahine will be screened for the first time over 10 days, from the 12th to the 22nd of September. The restoration project is done in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Chahine's passing by Misr International Films in collaboration with Egyptian and European partners to honor his legacy, giving the films a new life and bringing them back to the big screen. The screenings will be accompanied by a parallel program of workshops, lectures and talks which will be announced soon.

We couldn't have found a better place to house a new chapter in Zawya's life, and we can't wait to welcome you in our new home, in the presence of great films and exciting programs to come!

Red, a study of the use of the colour red in Spike Jonze's 'Her'.
Red is one of the most symbolic colour and can hold a lot of different meanings. On one hand it warns of danger, heat, fires, tells us to stop immediately what we are doing. On the other hand it can be interpreted as a sign of love, hearts, maternal, warm etc.
This video was created as a prompt for viewers to take colour into consideration when analyzing cinema. The colour Red is so vividly and purposefully used in this Jonze masterpiece that it cannot be overlooked. Whether it represents Theodore's misplaced love or a memory he so desperately wants to remember/forget, you can be sure the colour red is present somewhere in the scene.
