Creating a Cinematic World with the Sony VENICE 2 in “Young Sherlock”

“Young Sherlock” was produced for Amazon Prime and shot by Mark Patten BSC using the Sony VENICE 2. Guy Ritchie’s interpretation of the young Sherlock Holmes is now available on Amazon Prime.

In this version, Holmes is a rebellious and undisciplined 19-year-old student at Oxford University. When Sherlock becomes involved in a murder case at the university, he realizes that the only way to avoid prison is to prove his innocence and solve the mystery himself.

The TRIBE7 BLACKWING7 Cine Primes were created for cinematographers who want to shape the look of their images at the moment of capture. Developed in collaboration with Bradford Young, BLACKWING7 moves beyond technical perfection and embraces controlled optical character as a creative tool.

What makes the system unique is its tunable optical architecture. Each focal length is available in three distinct tuning profiles:

▪️ S Tuned – the most controlled and balanced option, offering a refined look with subtle flare and halation characteristics.

▪️ T Tuned – a more organic, vintage-inspired rendering with softer contrast roll-off and increased glow around highlights.

▪️ X Tuned – the most expressive profile, delivering stronger flares, pronounced halation, and a highly stylized image.
