Verbier Cinéma

Just tell is what you'd like to see on stage. Le bâtiment qui allait accueillir le futur cinéma de Verbier fut construit en 1958-1959 par Alexandre Bujard (senior) architecte EPFZ; il ouvrit ses portes en début décembre 1959. A ce moment-là, Mr. Bujard, propriétaire, engagea Léon Delamorclaz comme directeur du cinéma. En 1974, ce fut sons fils Pierre-Alex qui reprit le falmbeau - aidé de son épous

e Janine. Aujourd'hui, leur fils, Alexandre (junior), tient le rôle de projectionniste et de programmateur des manifestations au sein du cinéma. Poste très important pour la bonne marche et la continuité d'une salle de cinéma. C'est dire qu'il s'agit là d'une exploitation familiale. Le cinéma va fermer ses portes pour l'hiver 2010-2011, mais pas de manière permanente. Nous attendons de vous de nous dire ce que vous voudriez y voir l'année prochaine, concert, pièce de théâtre, cinéma, conférence…etc, n'hésitez pas à nous laisser un petit mot sur le mur.

The theater was buit in 1958-59 by Alexandre Bujard Sr, EPFZ architect and owner of the building. The opening day was December 1959. Leon Delamorciaz was hired to be the managing director. In 1974 Alexandre' son, Pierre Alex, took over with his wife, Jeanine. As for today, his grand-son, called Alexandre Bujard Jr, has the position of manager and projectionist, his mother Jeanine is still doing the programing. Verbier Cinéma is closed for the winter 2010-2011, but not permanently.
