Visions du Réel enjoys international renown and is considered as one of the most important documentary film festivals in the world. For more than a week each year in Nyon it draws a large audience of film-lovers and professionals from the sector (45'000 people in 2019). The Festival is also one of the rare international festivals in Switzerland to present a majority of films in world or internatio

nal premier screenings. It also constitutes a venue for one of the most important European Documentary Film Markets. Its Industry activities are attended by close to 1'500 professionals from around the world each year.

🏆 The film nominated by Visions du Réel wins the prestigious Doc Alliance Award for Best Feature Film 2026! 🌟

The 2026 Doc Alliance Award winners have been revealed during the Doc Day Lunch at Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes. We are thrilled and proud to announce that The Case Against Space by Graeme Arnfield has been honoured today. Many congratulations to the director, producer Boris Garavini, and the entire team! ✨

🏆 The Case Against Space has been awarded the Best Feature Film Award, endowed with 5,000 EUR. The film had its world premiere at Visions du Réel 2026, where it also received a Special Mention from the Burning Lights Competition Jury.

🏆 The Best Short Film Award goes to Some of You Fu**ed Eva by Lilith Grasmug, selected by FIDMarseille. Additionally, a Special Mention was given to the feature documentary Fantasy by Isabel Pagliai. ✨

🍿 The Doc Alliance network is a collaboration of seven leading documentary film festivals: CPH:DOX doclisboa DOK Leipzig FIDMarseille Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival Millennium Docs Against Gravity, Visions du Réel, plus guest festival Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival. Together, they support and promote emerging talents in European documentary cinema.

Après dix jours de projections, de rencontres et d’échanges, la 57e édition de Visions du Réel s'est terminé en beauté dimanche. Dernier festival d’Emilie Bujès en tant que directrice artistique, cette édition restera comme un moment fort, porté par un engouement exceptionnel du public. Vous avez été toujours plus nombreux·euses à répondre présent·e·s, avec une fréquentation en nette hausse et un record d’entrées en salles qui témoigne de votre fidélité et de votre curiosité intacte. Un immense merci à toutes et tous d’avoir fait vibrer cette édition à nos côtés! Nous tenons à remercier chaleureusement nos bénévoles, toujours autant engagé·e·s, ainsi que nos partenaires pour leur confiance. ✨

After ten days of screenings, meetings and discussions, the 57th edition of Visions du Réel has drawn to a close. Marked by Emilie Bujès’s departure as Artistic Director, this edition will be remembered as a particularly outstanding one, driven by remarkable public enthusiasm. More and more of you joined us this year, with a significant increase in attendance and a record number of entries in theaters – reflecting your loyalty and ever-growing curiosity. A huge thank you to everyone for making this edition such a success! We would also like to warmly thank our volunteers for their unwavering commitment, as well as our partners for their trust. ✨
