That’s right; weekend.

One day simply isn’t enough to celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, guardians, and mother figures who make our world turn and help make our downtown shine a little brighter every single day.

As part of the ongoing improvements to the Cole Walkway Parking Lot, we’ve reached one of the final steps: fresh line painting. This will help improve safety, organization, and the overall look of the space.
The project remains on schedule, and aside from any weather-related delays, line painting will be completed in the coming days.

Music Meets Main Street
At Broadway Music, the unmistakable presence of Fender filled the shop during a well-attended guitar clinic led by Ontario representative Bob Pert. Hosted by owner Bruce Fleming, the clinic became a reminder of downtown’s role as a gathering place for music, learning, and shared experience.

A Hidden Chapter Revealed
At the Woodstock Museum, restoration work uncovered a long-forgotten piece of the building’s past. Museum Curator Sheila Johnston and workers discovered a concealed staircase leading to a hidden mezzanine level between floors; complete with two rooms believed to have served as dressing spaces. The find adds to a building rich in history; one that once hosted concerts, social gatherings, and notable figures such as Oscar Wilde, John A. Macdonald, and Sir Wilfrid Laurier.

We know temporary closures can be inconvenient, but this project is about creating a better parking experience for everyone who visits Downtown Woodstock.

The Cole Walkway Parking Lot is currently closed for approximately 2 weeks while important resurfacing and repair work is completed, including:
• Removing old asphalt
• Minor excavation and concrete repairs
• Grading the lot
• Fresh paving
• Repainting parking lines

These improvements will help address long-standing wear and tear while creating a smoother, safer, and more welcoming downtown parking lot.

The first day began with sunshine; and even when the rain rolled in, downtown didn’t slow down.

Shoppers continued to browse, explore, and connect; capturing the spirit of a Sidewalk Days in 1991 where community showed up, rain or shine. Seen here, Peggy Fisher is assisted by Bea Masters of Collections by Marcia; a moment that reflects the heart of local business.

And just steps away, the sound of jazz carried through Museum Square. Saxophonist Bill Taylor, performing with the George Palvetzian Group, brought music to the moment; turning a day of shopping into an experience.
