We are a quaint Village located on Highway 12 within the Special Areas #4. We are one of a series of communities along Highway 12 with names reminiscent of royalty. We have active service groups which focus on family values such as monthly movie nights and potluck suppers. We are a community where everyone knows your name... in a good way.

♻️💙 **NEW BLUE RECYCLING CARTS ARE COMING TO VETERAN!** 💙♻️

EDIT TO THE DROP OFF DATES - CONFIRMED - Blue recycling carts will be delivered house to house from September 17 to September 20.

🏠 If no one is home, the cart will be left at the property.

♻️ Residents are encouraged to try the new service for **90 days**. Anyone who does not want a cart may opt out by contacting Circular Materials Customer Service. If you change your mind later, you can contact Customer Service to have a cart delivered again.

🚛 **Important pickup reminder:** Recycling carts must be placed at the **front curb**, not in the alley. Front-curb collection provides safer access for the larger collection truck and helps avoid trees, power lines, poles, property damage and difficult winter alley conditions.

📏 Please leave plenty of clearance around your cart and keep it away from vehicles, trees, poles and other objects. Carts placed too close to something that could be damaged may not be emptied.

**What can go in your recycling cart?**

📦 Flattened cardboard and boxboard
📰 Paper, newspapers, flyers, magazines and envelopes
🥛 Milk and juice cartons
🧴 Empty plastic bottles, jugs, tubs, trays and containers
🥫 Metal food and beverage cans
🍽️ Clean aluminum foil and foil containers
🫙 Empty glass bottles and jars

Please empty and rinse containers before placing them loosely in the cart. Check the recycling guide included with the previous post for complete preparation instructions and accepted materials.

RCMP Statement:
Farm equipment may be large, slow-moving and travelling between fields, farmyards, and roadways. Give operators the space and time they need and keep these safety tips in mind:

⚠️ Farm machinery may travel much slower than regular traffic, so slow down and keep your distance.

❌ Never make a hasty passing decision because you’re frustrated or in a hurry.

⚠️ Larger equipment may need extra room and can move toward the centre of the road before turning.

✅ Take extra care at intersections, hills and other areas where visibility may be obstructed.

RCMP Statement - Back-to-School Traffic Safety – Crosswalks

With kids returning to school, the Alberta RCMP are reminding everyone about crosswalk safety.

Whether you are a parent, student, or motorist remember to always stay alert when approaching a crosswalk.

👀 If you are using a crosswalk, make sure that the driver sees you before you step out. Just because a car slows down, doesn’t mean that they see you. Make sure a car comes to a complete stop before you step out onto the crosswalk.

⚠️ As a driver, always slow down when a approaching a crosswalk. Young children can dart out without looking, so make sure to be aware and not be distracted when driving.
