🚨 Attention & all film lovers!

Saw this first on an Insta page called Mtl Stories — sharing for awareness.

Reports are coming in that three Cineplex locations in were reportedly targeted by vandals, with screens smashed during screenings of .

If true, this is not an isolated issue — has a long history of attacks on cinema screenings:

• It started in 2015 with Tamil films, when the first known vandalism incidents took place.

• Over the years, the attacks expanded to all South Indian films.

• Since the release of Animal, Bollywood movies have also become targets.

Even though some people were caught and arrested over the years, these repeat vandalism incidents have continued right through 2026.

🎬 We hope Cineplex continues screening just like they did for Animal, because the rest became box office history. Let’s not let cowards and vandals dictate the fate of cinema. Audiences deserve to enjoy films safely and freely!

After much thought, CineTimeCanada will no longer be posting theatrical listings for South Indian films in Canada.

Due to ongoing logistical challenges, growing personal work commitments, career goals, and increasing pressure on the work front, it has become difficult to continue maintaining these updates. We also received several complaints during Jana Nayagan, which created stress from audiences even though we are not distributors or producers and many factors were beyond our control. Over time, we’ve seen many challenges and frustrated audiences, so we feel it’s best to step away.

Please check distributors’ and theatre pages directly for theatre listings in the future.

Thank you to everyone who supported CineTimeCanada over the years. We will now go back to being only film fans like the rest of the audience.
