The building always housed a mystery space for me. That back corner never made sense.
So I moved the tenant from #7 to #5 and started pulling down walls.
I found the old AC from 1939. I also found a space 16'X6'6". We removed the AC unit and ductwork. Broke up the suspended concrete slab. Removed the vent and moved the hole up the back wall 3' and turned it into a window.
Constructed a new floor, ran power, and created a laundry for the tenants.

4800 pounds of ceramic tile and 3660 pounds of vinyl tile stripped and removed.

Update, we have successfully received permission to install the new Marquee.

Well, this is it folks.
Monday I'm meeting with the contractor and designer to plan the next phase. We are going right back to 1939 except for the LED marquee. I'm too old to climb a ladder every week.

Hey old theatre fans. FB feels I should write a post and let you all know we are not as dead as it appears.
Since opening the old girl as an entertainment centre we have put about 300 bands on stage and hosted everything from a pet photography day to an OPP retirement party complete with 1000 chicken wings.
I only made this page to show other theatre people this one is still alive.
