Over the years I have found many defective parts and poor workmanship. I’ve spent time working with restoration, investigative work, and trained with BC Building Code updates, as well as my many renovations over the years.

My advice to any homeowner or tenant: Recognize the signs and have a professional take a look.

Odours: Can be caused by moisture, mold, leaks or even dead animals

Faulty electrical: Can be caused by loose wiring, chewed or frayed wires, faulty parts or overloaded circuits

Cracks: Can be caused by rot, house settling or improperly fastened items

Minor fixes can turn into major repairs or even major safety issues, and they will always get worse if not attended to. The quicker you act (even on a hunch), the easier the repair will be.

Here’s a unique powder room renovation from last year. Customers did an amazing job with the wallpaper and such a great look. Almost transcends you through time to a beautifully classic era.

Here are some Merit Kitchens vanities I’ve installed over the past year. Your bathroom is your own little oasis, and it should be functional and compliment your own style.
I’ve always loved seeing how my customers decorate it with their own unique decor to give it that home feeling. Some of these don’t show it as some pics were taken right after installation, but they’ve got great style.

This shower was an unique concept. Not a lot of space to work with, so we created more space with custom sizing and a subtle angle in the shower. It’s also great having such great customers that can put their trust in you. 😊

Hello everyone,
It’s been a while since I’ve been on here. I had taken a break from social media for a while to focus on what was in front of me. It’s been a busy year with the kids in school and sports, coaching 2 basketball teams, running a business, keeping a house in order, and trying my best to still make time for family and friends. I’m sure you all know the struggle of maintaining the balance.
Now that my coaching season is done for the season, I am ready to release some pictures this week of some of the work I’ve done over the past year.

This reno was very interesting for me. A lot of custom work, and risky (but awesome) ideas from some great customers. Collaborating with these wonderful customers created them a unique and beautiful space to enjoy.

This is just a few of the changes that were made, but made a huge impact on how I view things from a contractor/designer stand point.
It really showcases how you should renovate based on what you like…. and not what is currently in style.

A fireplace renovation completed just in time for Santa to visit. The customers had a vision of their fireplace and it “warms” my heart how happy they were with the results.

One of my summer completions. Transforming a small apartment size kitchen into a better functioning kitchen with lots of storage.

Merit Kitchens cabinets with wood interior. Soft close hardware, quartz countertops, puck lighting, new tile floor, and even a coffee bar with floating shelves. To put the cherry on top I had some great customers who were very happy.

Back story of the name Chris Dodd’s Renovisions:

I’ve been in the trades for +20 years. Spent some years in new construction and received my Red Seal Certificate for Carpentry while working in restoration. Over the years I have learnt from the best…. and the worst. After years of fixing the mistakes of so many contractors, I was persuaded by my brother to start my own company.

The name came to me immediately. Somebody out there needed to get the job done right the first time. Giving the customer what they dreamed of and make them happy with the workmanship. This was my vision.

I have been running my own renovation company since 2009. Recently incorporated. Fully covered with insurance and WCB. Carpentry, design, bathrooms, kitchens, job management and even full home renovations.
I have never deviated from my original vision and I never will.
